TAPES STILL AVAILABLE AT:

i used to dive a lot when i was a teenager. I loved feeling weightless and seeing those otherworldly colours and shapes. I tried to capture the magic of those experiences with this tape

"Though it isn’t unusual for a piece of music to evoke a mental journey, Altars Altars‘ Before We Dive explicitly maps out some of the pathways and stops a listener might enjoy, yet leaving — as is natural to music — each to flesh out its own embodiment of the places and occasions. A delicate construct of continuous spectra, made of voices, nature recordings, and manufactured artificial sounds, that blend into one another. The listener is conducted on a maritime expedition, across the sea, to a beach before putting in anchor 'At The Harbour.' When you open up Before We Dive in order to listen, remember to live the odyssey and try to bring something back with you."
- Decoder Magazine

" There is no time nor age here in the midst of this collage of youthful memories fashioned from warm aqueous drones and marine sounds. The album offers a distinct contrast to the delicate introspections of Small Hours (Home Normal, 2016), showing a more idyllic side to Leppers’ work as he manages to fully capture a sense of the the tranquility, wonder, and timelessness that draws us all to the sea."
